Glazed Oranges in Caramel-Orange Sauce

Glazed oranges, a quintessential Italian fruit dessert, are often no more than orange slices soaked in a sweet syrup, perhaps with a few spices. The result offers refreshment, but is far from spectacular. Without upending the purity and simplicity of the dish, we wanted to try our hand at turning glazed oranges into a requested dessert.
