How to Prep Kale for Cooking

Here's a simple, efficient way to strip kale from its stems and chop it into rough pieces.

1. Grab end of stem in 1 hand. Pinch thumb and index finger of your other hand on either side of stem as you strip leaves from bottom to top of stem.

2. Pile leaves on cutting board, then run knife across leaves in 1 direction to cut 1-inch-wide strips. Turn strips 90 degrees and chop into rough pieces.
