|3||ripe bananas, peeled and sliced on bias 1/2 inch thick|

InstructionsMakes about 2 cups
Look for yellow bananas with very few spots; overly ripe bananas will fall apart during cooking.
Melt butter in 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Add sugar, water, lemon juice, cardamom, and salt and whisk until sugar dissolves. Add bananas and cook, stirring frequently, until bananas have softened at edges, 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to bowl and serve.
