Unconventional Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce really does live up to the hype.

Distinguished by a brick-red color and squeeze bottle with a rooster on the label, Huy Fong Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce has a cultlike following and a rapidly growing supermarket and restaurant presence. The California-made product, a domestic version of the Thai original, is thicker, sweeter, and more garlicky than Cajun- and Mexican-style hot sauces, but we found that it works at least as well as the other styles in just about any hot sauce application.
