How to Prevent Pastry Bag Leaks

Here's the best way to prevent the filling from leaking out of the tip as you fill the bag.

Pastry bags can quickly and neatly deliver beautifully decorated cookies, perfectly portioned pastries, or uniformly filled pastas, but they can be messy to use. Here's a way to prevent the filling from leaking out of the tip as you fill the bag.

1. Place pastry tip in bag. Twist bag near tip and gently press twisted portion into tip to create temporary barrier. Fill bag.

2. To pipe, pull on tip to release barrier and squeeze bag to push filling down into tip.
