A cooling rack is an essential piece of baking equipment—but which one is the most efficient?
A good rack should be sturdy, able to withstand a hot broiler, and clean up without warping or damage. It should also fit inside a standard 18 by 13-inch baking pan, which eliminated four of the six brands we purchased.
The two remaining products performed well. One rack offered extra support, with a central brace and six feet, rather than four, and took top honors. But the more inexpensive rack is almost as good, and at one-third the price, it's our Best Buy.
